MOMOTARO
BOOK COVER DESIGN | ILLUSTRATION
Momotaro is a well-known Japanese tale, passed down through generations and cherished among children. I was introduced to this story by my mother when I was a little girl, it became a part of my childhood memories and created a sense of warmth. For this very reason, I wanted to remake an illustration for a novella I have always been fond of.
The narrative begins with a giant peach floating across the stream, taken home by an old couple, only to discover there is a baby in the peach!
I decided to depict this genesis as the book cover because I believe it draws the viewer in while still leaving enough intrigue for them to investigate the narrative further.
